With mosquito nets to give you all the fresh air you need, and a blind to separate the upper berth from the lower cabin area, you can be sure of a great night’s sleep in the new California – leaving you refreshed for the next adventure.

The new California is a real home from home, with everything you need for cooking ready to hand – including a two burner hob, sink with a drawer and cutlery tray beneath, and handy fridge. There’s also plenty of useful storage space providing lots of room for your pots, pans, dishes and plates. In addition, the kitchen unit also comes with a movable and folding worktop, fitted as standard, which is designed for use as a table.

Swivelling front seats and an adjustable free-standing table ensures that mealtimes in the new California are always a sociable affair. And during those warm, summer evenings, two standard folding seats, cleverly stored in the tailgate, enable you to sit outside and watch the sun go down at your leisure.

As you’d expect, the interior of the new California meets the highest expectations, with innovative ideas and high quality materials throughout. For example, the wood-trimmed cupboard fittings are made of lightweight material to reduce the overall weight of the vehicle and reduce fuel consumption, while the corrugated inner core of the aluminium panels maintains the stability of the cupboard surfaces, which feature curves rather than sharp edges. The fresh water and waste tanks are protected against frost and each has a capacity of 30 litres. There’s also an AC inverter, with a 230V socket, conveniently located behind the B pillar trim, allowing you to use electrical equipment up to a maximum of 150W, without having to connect to the external 230V mains hook-up.

The new California offers you complete motoring comfort. Driver and front passenger swivelling seats feature lumbar support and armrests, and are also heated, while such features as air conditioning, front electric windows, heated exterior mirrors, remote central locking and a RCD 310 radio / CD player with eight speakers ensure total comfort and convenience.

This exceptional vehicle is sure – footed, too, with high body rigidity, large anti-roll bars, McPherson suspension struts and independent rear suspension combining to ensure a dynamic driving experience. Naturally, safety is paramount, which is why an Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic  Differential Lock (EDL), Traction Control System (TCS), Engine Braking Control (EBC) and Electronic Stabilisation Programme (ESP), not to mention driver, passenger, side and front curtain airbags, all come as standard, providing you and your passengers with the highest levels of protection.
